We shot the O’Neill Europe campaign on our home island of Lanzarote. The project came through creative director Claudia Darder, a close friend and collaborator with whom we have already produced several campaigns.
This time, the brief was especially ambitious. We spent seven full days shooting across Lanzarote and also travelled to La Graciosa to create a wide range of content covering several product lines within the brand.
The cast included professional O’Neill athletes selected by the brand, alongside a small group of local talent cast by our team. Our aim was to approach the entire campaign in a dynamic and completely authentic way, creating documentary style scenes that felt natural and believable.
When working on surf campaigns, we believe that credibility is essential. That means finding the best surf spots, working around the right conditions and shooting at the best possible times, combining fashion imagery with real action in the water.
We worked with a small crew made up of our trusted Bruma team, together with Murcia based filmmaker Javier Lara, who led the video camera department. The campaign was shot on a RED Komodo and a Bolex 16mm.
